If you have never shopped vintage before don’t panic, it isn’t as daunting as it looks. We have tried to make it as easy as possible for you at BOB.
All measurements are along side each item, so to avoid disappointment it's worth taking the time to know yours. The easiest way to do this is take a dress that fits you perfectly and measure that. Across the bust (arm pit to arm pit), hips and waist, then double it. Make sure you don't use a stretchy dress for this as it may not be accurate to how it sits on your body. And also make sure you measure in inches like we do. I want to encourage you not to disregard anything that is too big, or too long, and to find a tailor who can make the item work for you. Your local dry cleaner will usually do a great job, but if you are altering a piece of designer vintage it’s worth finding someone with skills you trust. I'd also like to suggest investing in a pair of tan knee high boots, some metallic pumps, and some nude round toe heels (not to high). In my opinion it's almost impossible to find an outfit that wont go with one of those.
Please feel free to email or tweet us and ask us any questions. And if you are new to vintage just get stuck in, be brave, and abandon what you think you know about style. It's time to try something new. Well, old but new... you know what I mean!
Most of all, have fun!
